SOLARTRON METROLOGY UPDATES OPTIMUM SERIES LVDT PRECISION SENSOR RANGE WITH OP/25 SENSOR
Narrow-Bodied, High-Performance Sensor for Precise Linear Positioning
BOGNOR REGIS, WEST SUSSEX, ENGLAND— Solarton Metrology , a unit of AMETEK, Inc., has updated it's Optimum Sensor Series with the addition of the OP/25 narrow-bodied, high-performance sensor. The OP/25 linear variable displacement transducer (LVDT) offers a small body diameter, large radial bore clearance, rugged construction and good measurement range to body length ratio.
The OP/25 is an addition to the Optimum Series LVDT sensors that are ideal for process control and research applications, especially where space for measurements is restricted. With a free core design, these sensors can be used in applications with moving parts and where zero friction and hysteresis are required. The free core design is available with an optional lightweight core that is ideal for mounting onto small, rapidly moving structures without affecting their performance and integrity.
With it's good measurement range to body length ratio (+ 25/50 to 15mm), along with it's narrow body diameter (9.5mm), the OP/25 is ideally suited for applications within tight spaces. It's rugged construction ensures a long life as well as the ability to withstand adverse conditions, such as fast repetition of moving parts. The OP/25 has an operating temperature range of up to 200°C allowing the use of probes in harsh temperatures.
