  • Displacement sensor with IP65 sealing
  • Superior performance compared to traditional Linear Variable Differential Transformer (LVDT) displacement sensors

  • The good features of conventional LVDT sensor combined with Solartron’s digital technology has resulted in a range of digital displacement sensors that provide the gauge builder with cost effective solutions. The range has been expanded further with the addition of the digital displacement sensor – D6P/S which has all the excellent features of standard digital displacement sensors but is only 6 mm diameter.

The 6 mm diameter gauging probes like all Solartron’s digital displacement sensors and displacement transducers can be combined using the Orbit Digital Measurement Network to quickly build a gauging system with sensors that operate and are calibrated straight from the box.

Combining multiple sensors using the Orbit Digital Measurement network is easy and data can be read using a Solartron readout or the Gauge Computer Software making system integration simple.

Like a conventional LVDT the displacement probe tip is pushed out using an internal spring. The precision bearings inside the digital displacement senor ensure precise positioning of the contact senor tip. At the same time the unique bearing design provides repeatable measurements even when the displacement transducer is subjected to mechanical side loads.

    Pneumatic Push Actuation D6JP
Digital Gauge Probes Narrow Body | Pneumatic Push D6J/P
  • 6 mm diameter
  • Excellent for measuring features close together
  • 2, 5 and 12 mm displacement transducer measuring ranges
  • Accuracy better than 0.1 µm
  • Repeatability better than 0.05 µm
  • Resolution better than 0.01 µm
  • Range of linear displacement contact sensor tips available
  • Pneumatic actuation contact sensor
  • Standard gauge probe tip force 0.7 N with 1 bar pressure
  • Superior performance compared with traditional Linear Variable Differential Transformer (LVDT) displacement sensors

  • The pneumatic versions of the narrow body digital displacement sensors (gauge probes) provide users with an effective solution to build automatic gauges for precision measurements of multiple parts. When the air is off the probe tips are automatically withdrawn enabling the part to be placed inside the gauge without contacting the displacement transducer tip. The narrow body displacement sensors facilitate checking of features that are close together which could not easily be measured using standard digital displacement sensors or conventional LVDT sensors.

Solartron Metrology has reduced the diameter of these displacement sensors without compromising the reliability, life or performance.

Combining multiple sensors using the Orbit Digital Measurement network is easy and data can be read using a Solartron readout or the Gauge Computer Software making system integration simple.

Attention to detail in both design and manufacture of the displacement sensor ensures precision measurement throughout the linear displacement transducer's life.

Solartron Metrology offers a large range of displacement sensors to suit multiple applications with different cable outlets (radial or axial), multiple measuring ranges, different cable types like steel braided which provides additional protection for displacement sensors that are being used in harsh environments. If you cannot find the displacement senor you need please contact your local sales office or distributor.

    DSP Short Probes
  • Same performance as standard digital probes with shorter body
  • 2, 4 and 5 mm measuring range
  • Accuracy better than 0.1 µm
  • Repeatability precision better than 0.05 µm
  • Resolution better than 0.01 µm
  • Range of contact sensor tips available
  • Spring actuation
  • Standard contact sensor tip force 0.7N (other options available)
  • IP65 sealing
  • Superior performance compared to traditional Linear Variable Differential Transformer (LVDT)
  • New from Solartron Metrology displacement sensors with short body lengths enabling these gauge probes to be mounted in locations where standard displacement sensors will not fit. Considerably shorter than standard digital displacement sensors and much shorter than conventional LVDT sensors, the short range of digital displacement sensors (DSP) still maintain all of the advantages of LVDT sensors while providing superior performance.

Like all Solartron digital displacement transducers the short DSP range is fully compatible with the  Orbit Digital Measurement Network making integration of multiple displacement sensors and displacement transducers simple. Data can be read and processed using Solartron readouts or  Gauge Computer Software which incorporates basic SPC.

For Spring Push Probes,  DSP/X/S,  like a conventional LVDT the displacement probe tip is pushed out using an internal spring. The precision bearings inside the digital displacement senor ensure precise positioning of the contact senor tip. At the same time the unique bearing design provides repeatable measurements even when the displacement transducer is subjected to mechanical side loads. Please see understanding repeatability for more information on this important feature.
